Painter's Mill was a great place to see concerts.
It was right outside Baltimore MD.

Here is some great info I got from the Founder of Treefrog Productions.
He produced lots of great shows in the Baltimore area.

I was the founder of Treefrog Productions in Baltimore.
We did an amazing series of concerts at Painter's Mill Music Fair in 1970
and 1971 (Derek & the Dominoes, Elton John, Leon Russell, Poco, Emerson, Lake
and Palmer, Jethro Tull, Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac,
Cat Stevens, Beach Boys, Bee Gees, Staple Singers, J. Geils, James Cotton, and a
few others. . I had previously worked for Electric Factory up in Philly and put together
a concert in Jan 1969 at the Baltimore Civic Center with Spirit, Nazz,
Blood, Sweat & Tears, Rhinocerous, Mother Earth. I also worked the
Denver Pop Festival as stage crew in June 1969

Here is a couple good storys.

On one of my last productions. Note that the artist spelled J. Geils wrong
(see poster below). They were not happy about that. The artist was
Alan Rose who went on to become the main illustrator for
National Lampoon Magazine during its first decade or so.
Speaking of unhappy bands, Cat Stevens threw a temper
tantrum and refused to play because the font size for his
name was a few points smaller than for Procul Harum, who
shared the bill. Cat actually pulled out a ruler and measured them.
Fortunately his road manager talked some sense into him and
the show went on.
